To me it represents utter futility and pointless exercise. It could also symbolize the eternal struggle of natural man and the artificial world he’s created. In this interpretation the natural man, with neither tools nor the strength to wield them, finds himself up against the metaphorical wall of artificiality, while the brick represents that synthetic world and the contrivances that seem purpose-built to restrain and confine him. Thus he must use his own being to try and break that wall in the hopes and smashing apart the cold harsh physical reality, and perhaps finding fulfillment and true spiritual freedom on the other side.

I kind of appreciate it more when analysis of art philosophy only goes like two layers deep, it feels more honest
